McCain said that he would run a clean campaign but send out a email linking Obama with Al Qaeda knowing it’s untrue, and then McCain condemns an add being run about Obama but the add isn’t being pulled.
Question is: Do you believe McCain is running a clean campaign or his he playing good cop and bad cop?
Don’t kid yourself McCain did send out the email I got one.
McCain is a puppet. He says what the arms dealers tell him to say.

McCain has the luxury of taking the "high road". He can appear to distance himself from the Rev. Wright controversy, and allow surrogates to hammer this issue
Note: I don’t necessarily disprove of this strategy. I support McCain. Whatever it takes.

No—-thanks for using the phrase though; imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

This issue is not a "setup" except perhaps in that the NC GOP is kicking the National GOP (and McCain) in the shins in order to get their way in the state elections. McCain does NOT approve of the ad and shouldn’t. However, the NC GOP is much more, um, "conservative" than McCain, and bristles at the idea of McCain telling them what to do.
The NC GOP ad isn’t even about the presidential race—it’s a cheap-thrill effort to get people to elect a Republican governor; that’s what the NC GOP are concerned with, unfortunately, and don’t mind being divisive like this in order to coerce Independents or Hillary Democrats into voting a GOP ticket for state elections.
There are more Democrats than Republicans in NC, and there is also a very large segment of Independent voters.
EDIT: McCain did NOT link Obama with Al Quada—he DID state the truth, which is that Hamas endorses Obama.

He is running a fairly clean campaign. I support McCain but he is just a pacafist. He won’t mudsling for any reason and there are so many reasons to mudsling in this campain.

I think he needs tell the American people who Obama is. I want to know. If you don’t have any dirt then people can sling mud. That’s the consequences of making bad choices.

McCain is a politician . He’s liable to do or say what’s beneficial to campaign . He’s just like Obama and Clinton , except a million times more honest and truthful .

McCain isn’t running the ad and therefore can do nothing more than condemn it.
Also, McCain did not send out the email.
Get your facts straight before posting… it saves me the trouble of having to correct all of your points.

Yes, I believe ALL candidates do that. The 527 rules make it a lot easier to have a negative campaign where someone else can do your dirty work.

First of all, neither McCain nor his campaign sent an e-mail like the one you are describing. If you believe otherwise, you had better be able to back up your claim with some actual evidence.
As far as the ad being run, that is being done by the GOP in North Carolina. They are an independent body from McCain’s campaign, but are probably willing to pull the Hillary approach and do whatever it takes to get their man to win. McCain obviously disapproves, because the NC GOP are acting like morons by ignoring the wishes of the man they are promoting.
In summary, McCain is running a clean campaign. Unlike Hypocrite Hillary, John McCain actually publically condemned smear tactics and insisted that they not be used by his supporters or campaign. But he doesn’t have control over everyone supporting him, unfortunately.
