Here is the case. i got some backlinks pointing to my own site and the webpages got indexed by google. The index number is increasing everyday. I wonder if these backlinks play some role in it. If so, how could i build direct connection between the backlinks and the indexed pages? It’s urgent. Thanks.

Indexed is the number of pages that is crawl by the search engine while backlinks is the number of related links pointing to your site. Backlinks play some important role to your site that tells the link popularity of the related site pointing to your site. It is important that you link to a related site to prevent the "link spam". Pagerank also tells about the number of backlinks to your site.

Plug your site in here

See if any of those show up. Google only updates the links it shows the public every three months.
If it shows up on a Backlink Fetcher like that one then Google has probably seen it already.
